  • Teacher Scale A + SDA

Arohanui School is a large progressive special school based in West Auckland. We cater for students aged 5 to 21 years with intellectual and associated disabilities. 50% of our students have a diagnosis of autism. Our students are educated in a range of settings including base school, satellite classes and our community-based centre for post-18 year olds.

At Arohanui we view each student as a unique learner. The Arohanui School Curriculum focuses on supporting each student to develop the skills they need to be an effective communicator, to be as independent as possible through their lives and to reach their potential in all areas.

We are looking for a dynamic teacher to join a dedicated and fun team of special educators working with students with special needs. You will have a passion for helping emerging learners reach their potential, and the ability to think creatively in developing learning programmes.  We offer small classes, high teacher aide support and a commitment to professional learning and development. Experience in teaching the arts and working with special education is desirable but not essential as ongoing support is provided.

    School visits are welcomed.
